Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
In common with most standard web sites, we use log files which obtain the following data from your system: Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider, country of origin, operating system type, date/time stamp, referring page, search term used, pages visited within this site, time spent, and exit pages. None of this information is linked to personally identifiable information. The information is collected in aggregate to gather demographic information so as to improve the service offered.
We use the following programs:
Webalizer provided by our webhoster to analyze traffic to this web site. Webalizer does not create individual profiles for visitors. Unlike some tracking services Webalizer does not have a database of individual profiles for each visitor. Webalizer only collects aggregate data.

Who we share your data with
We use social media and social networking services to advance our mission. These platforms and applications are often provided by third party service providers. Please see their privacy policies for more information, and let us know if you have specific concerns.
We use the following programs:
ShareThis provides a customizable social sharing tool, making sharing online content simple. You can easily share anything on the web with your friends on social sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Email, Digg, Reddit and more through one tool (“ShareThis Icon”). In addition to the sharing service offered directly to you, their technology also allows them to gather information regarding the browsing and sharing from those websites that use the ShareThis Icon or their advertising technology (“Publishers”). This enables ShareThis, Publishers, advertisers, and data partners to facilitate the delivery of relevant, targeted advertising, analytics, and data modeling based on this social sharing (collectively “ShareThis Publisher Applications”).
You can recognize the websites which use the ShareThis Publisher Applications by the ShareThis Icon on the website.
Without identifying who you are by name, email or phone number they aim to display to you products and/or services that you might be interested in, based on your recent browsing and/or sharing behavior,. This is often called interest-based advertising (“IBA”) or online behavioral advertising (“OBA”). For more information on IBA/OBA, click here. » http://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising
“We may allow third-party companies, including ad networks, to serve advertisements, providing other advertising services and/or collect certain information when you visit our website. Third-party companies may use pseudonymised personal data (e.g., click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over) during your visit to this website in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of interest to you. To learn more about Interest-Based Advertising or to opt-out of this type of advertising, you can visit www.AboutAds.info/choices or www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ .”
Some third-party companies may also use non-cookie technologies, such as statistical IDs. Please keep in mind that your web browser may not permit you to block the use of these non-cookie technologies, and those browser settings that block cookies may have no effect on such techniques. If the third-party company uses the non-cookie technologies for interest-based advertising, you can opt out at www.networkadvertising.org/choices . Please note the industry opt out only applies to use for interest-based advertising and may not apply to use for analytics or attribution.”

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you sign up to receive my newsletter, free eBook or any other services or products that I sell directly whether as owner or intermediary, you will also receive my monthly newsletter and be on my mailing list for my direct marketing interactions with you. If you sign up to receive my monthly newsletter, I will add you to my mailing list upon collection of your first and last name as well as your email address.
Your personal data is stored indefinitely unless you opt out/ unsubscribe. I may also remove your email address if you stop opening my newsletters (a sign that you are no longer interested reading my content, plus it does affect my stats!).
If you no longer wish to be subscribed to my newsletter, you can hit the unsubscribe button within my email and your data will be permanently removed and you will no longer receive the newsletters.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
